Committee Functions
Committees are assigned a list of charges for the year, which relate directly to the activities of that year's Annual Plan. It is through the completion of committee charges that a large portion of regional activities are planned and implemented for the membership. Each committee has a Chair who is appointed by the Executive Board President. A member of the office staff -- either the Executive Director or the Program & Services Coordinator -- is liaison to a committee. The full office staff supports the efforts of each committee.
Task Forces have a narrower charge within a specific time frame, e.g., 6 months. A task force may be formed at any time during the year.
How to Participate
Before the start of each fiscal year, INFOLINK distributes a committee sign-up sheet to the entire membership. The sheet is also placed on the website. Personnel in member libraries indicate first and second choices for committees and then are formally assigned -- most frequently to their first choice. Committee members determine their meeting times and meeting locations in conjunction with the INFOLINK liaison. We encourage library administrators to foster regional committee participation by their staff. It is an important part of staff development.
